"Plane-crash drama 'LOST' crashes in ratings"

Analysis: LOST has hit a new low in the number of approximate viewers at 12.8 million. But I don't see a reason to cancel. It's still the top show in the slot among the "top demographic" (18-49) which is important for advertising. As for the popularity, I'm not sure there's a more discussed show on the internet. Plus television ratings don't account for the numbers of people who download the episodes from iTunes or watch on ABC.com. And television ratings are an imperfect science, you're not going to get the exact number of viewers because you're not sampling every viewer.

All that to say, LOST ratings are down to a new low, but in my opinion, the show is heading towards a new high.

Episode 3.09-Stranger in a Strange Land airs at 10/9c this Wednesday on ABC.
