LIVE Posting: Episode 3.21-Greatest Hits

Last episode before the finale, let's begin...

9:07PM-Good start. Did Desmond have a flash there?...Will Jack's plan work? Will all the survivors be out of the camp so they can blow the whole place up?...Is Juliet bluffing again thus the Others do know that the survivors are expecting them?...

9:16PM-So now we know where the episode title for the finale comes from (it's titled "Through the Looking Glass"). Perhaps that explains the cable in the sand that's been seen twice before (season 1 with Sayid, and a few episodes back when Hurley finds it as part of Desmond's vision)?...How does Desmond know for sure that Charlie must die for rescue?...Will they be able to hide the fuses effectively to where the Others don't suspect?...

9:26PM-Will Charlie make it to the Looking Glass and sacrifice himself for the rescue of the survivors? Does the Looking Glass block cameras from satellites and keep helicopters from reaching the island (like Naomi's)?...So it was Carl in the boat. Why did the Others bump up departure time?...Good to see Bernard and Rose again. How long has it been since we've seen them? I can't remember...

9:38PM-I like this "greatest hits" thing. It's pretty cool. But does this doom Charlie to death now that we've seen his greatest moments in life? Will he somehow escape fate and this cycle?...Can the survivors be successful in their plan against the Others?...Why did Ben move up the departure? I'm assuming that Jacob didn't say anything about that...

9:48PM-Lots of good themes in the flashbacks and in this episode. Sacrificing yourself for friends, living like you were about to die, remembering the good times. I'm really liking this episode despite not much happening. This is a preparation episode for the finale so I didn't have high expectations but they've done a good job with the flashbacks...Wow, Bernard can shoot...It's time for Jack to lead..."Can I go with you cause I'm tired of trekking..." lol...

10:00PM-I wondered why no one would be manning the Looking Glass if it was so crucial. Does this mean Juliet is a liar and does know a lot of people who have been there and she's warned the Others about the survivors' plans?...That was a good moment with Desmond offering himself as a sacrifice. Maybe that is the true meaning of his flashes. Maybe that's his destiny. Will Charlie now die since he changed the destiny?...Charlie didn't die in this episode as I was half-expecting but he's in a difficult situation...Kind of teared up there at the end when Charlie was tearing up...

Great episode tonight. A setup episode but a great setup episode. The greatest hits flashbacks were very good. The themes of the episode were good. And the setup was good. I'm so excited about next week's episode!

If you didn't see the commercial, there will be a LOST "special" (recap) tomorrow with the executive producers after Grey's Anatomy (10/9c approximately) and it will also air before next week's finale at 8/7c.

Next week's episode, Episode 3.22, the finale of season 3 and the final episode of 2007 (Season 4 will begin in 2008), titled "Through the Looking Glass", will air at a special time: 9/8c and will run for two hours.

Time to start!

9:07PM-Interesting first scene. Possibly the same Roger in the van Hurley found a few episodes back? Why were they in the woods? Hiking?...Finally, it's answer time! Can't wait for the origins of the island!...And Ben wasn't on the island all of his life. Possibly right after birth though...

9:16PM-Ben is lying, as Locke said he was, though it was about being on the island all his life. He was part of Dharma. And his dad was the Roger in the van...Was the narrator talking about the smoke monster or other wildlife?...I'm guessing no one likes Mikhail since they let Locke beat him down. That was sweet...Let's go see Jacob, the man behind the curtain!...

9:25PM-Still can't put together how Ben became a part of the Hostiles. Maybe they saved the children?...Are there any Hostiles left in the Others?...Why did Alex give a gun to Locke?...There's no scaring Locke off, he's determined to see Jacob...Getting some good answers so far...

9:36PM-Poor Ben. Seems like all the major characters have father issues, common theme...So that's the little statue looking thing Ben was holding in the beginning of the show...Maybe Ben left the Dharma group angry at his father and hung out with the Hostiles and became accepted...What happened to Annie?...Still don't know where Juliet stands. She seems like she's trying to help the survivors yet she'll probably return to the Others...I guess the Others will be attempting this kidnapping in the season finale...Back to the show...

9:48PM-So Ben wanted to become a Hostile and Richard is considerably older than Ben, though he doesn't look it. I would have guessed that Ben is older...Echoing Locke, "what was that"? I thought Ben was playing mind games but that was really strange. Almost too strange for my liking. I guess there's a certain limit of supernatural that I have for the show. Smoke monster has a possible explanation but Jacob?...

10:00PM-WOW! Is Locke dead?!?! I didn't think he would die before the series' end. Wow. That's a shocker...I suppose Annie died in the purge? How could he let her die? Does he have any good in his heart?...With his father issues I kind of felt bad for him until he annihilated his people. I'm not sure he can be trusted even the Others can't trust him. He'll do whatever it takes to keep him out of the grave even if he has to sacrifice his people again...What did "Jacob" mean when he said "help me"?

Though it raised some huge questions and possibly killed one of my favorites, this was a great episode. Explained some of the island mysteries but raised a huge one with Jacob. Maybe one that will last til the series' end? I'm still stunned that Locke is dead, if he is. Without medical help, he's pretty much a goner...

Wow, still can't believe that. Didn't see that coming.

edit: I forgot that last week they, the writers, did make a point to show that Locke's hand healed fast. Maybe he isn't doomed after all. Maybe that was put in there to show that he will come back. Or maybe he's done.

Next week's episode, Episode 3.21, titled "Greatest Hits", will be the final episode before the sure-to-be-stunning two hour season finale. Looks like we've got three great hours of LOST coming to close the season...Next week, May 16, 10/9c then May 23 at 9/8c to wrap up season 3.

LIVE Posting: Episode 3.19-"The Brig"

I'm excited and ready to go. We're in the last month of LOST Season 3...

9:07PM-So these flashbacks are island flashbacks. Those are always fun...Hurley's not so good at looking innocent, lol...Why would Locke want to say goodbye to Kate and not Jack or Sawyer?...How did Cooper get to the island?...Are the Others going back to "Alcatraz"?...

9:17PM-What makes Locke want to kill Ben?...Is the Others' kidnapping of the pregnant women coincide with the week that Ben told Juliet?...Where are the Others camping?...Will Sawyer kill Ben?...

9:31PM-Intense sequence there with Locke and his father. Thought Locke was going to turn around and cut his neck. But alas he didn't...As I originally thought, it's Cooper in "The Brig" instead of Ben. Going into the episode I thought it was Cooper by the description then I thought it may be Ben...Will Sawyer kill him?...How many people trust Jack?...How did they find the bodies of the survivors? Maybe they had decayed enough that they couldn't tell they weren't the actual people on the plane or maybe it's something else...Nice to see Sayid again after a few episodes off...

9:43PM-So there are seeds of dissension in the Others camp too (doubting Ben while the survivors doubt Jack)...Rousseau appeared briefly...Now it's apparent that Cooper/Sawyer is Sawyer's parents' killer...

9:53PM-So Sawyer did Locke's job. Will Locke return to the Others now? How will he keep Sawyer away? I don't think Sawyer will want him to go back...Return of the question posed in the pilot: Where are they?...Onto the final segment, solid episode thus far. Still didn't explain where Cooper came from though...

10:00PM-Locke is on his own now. How long will that last?...What did Juliet and Jack have to say to Kate? That's only going to raise suspicion against him. And with Locke giving Sawyer evidence, Jack's going to be in hot water...Why did the Others give Locke the tape? What good comes of that?...

Good episode tonight. I think next week's will be the great one I was expected. Due to possible spoilers I won't get into why...

LIVE Posting: Episode 3.18-"D.O.C."

Sorry I'm a little late. Had some technical difficulties...

9:16PM-Not gonna lie, I'm kind of tired of Sun-Jin flashbacks. They're interesting but I just don't like them too much. Interesting one here though...Silly Hurley launching the flare...Mikhail?!?!?! Are you kidding me? Is he alive? I thought it might be a moment in the past with Desmond but he has the scars...

9:26PM-Wow, how on earth is Mikhail alive? Perhaps Jacob healed him? Can he save the girl? Will Desmond stick to his word or turn on him and keep him hostage. I'd have to say I'd probably try to keep him and lie...Wow, Juliet was eerie there. Can Sun be saved?...

9:40PM-So did Mikhail save the girl's life? That was quite gruesome...Back to the medical hatch we go. Nice hidden room. I wondered where all that went. Wouldn't be too fun to haul that around the island...I still can't get past how Mikhail is still alive...So is Jae the father? Is Jin the father?...

9:52PM-So Jin is the father but the baby is from the island. Can Sun be saved? Will we see if she'll be saved? I mean we've seen 90 days in 3 seasons, can we get to the end of her pregnancy by season 5? Maybe the last episodes will be a time advancement after rescue or whatever happens?...Can't believe Desmond let him go. Maybe Mikhail will spare him. Maybe Desmond saw a flash and needed Mikhail to vouch for him. Why did Mikhail want the phone? Can it work?

10:00PM-Wow, what a finish. Juliet leaving a message for Ben. I liked her "I hate you" remark after the message...What's the girl talking about? Is it the work of the Others to prove the flight crashed and no one survived so no one would find the island? What will happen if Michael gets out and can prove he survived the crash and that there are other survivors?...

Great episode tonight. Better than I expected. I had some lower expectations just from reading the description and seeing the preview but it was a good episode. I think it's just the beginning of some great season enders. The ends of the seasons always seem to thrill and not disappoint.

LIVE Posting: Episode 3.17-Catch-22

Welcome to the live posting for episode 3.17 titled "Catch-22". We'll get started in about 15 minutes...

9:06PM-Great start to the episode. Looks to be Desmond-centric. I had a hunch that Charlie wasn't going to die and it was just a flash. A crazy flash. What's the red dot? What's the cable for? Is it the same cable Sayid found? That cable has been a question mark for some time now, perhaps some answers about it. Quite the way for Charlie to "die". You'd think he'd get off the wire or something. Back to the episode...

9:18PM-Where does Desmond's flashback fit in his timeline? I'm guessing it's before he meets Jack since he calls Jack brother and goes on the boat race soon after. And it's probably before his stint in the army/navy/whatever it was. What is the "Catch-22" that the episode title refers to? Will Desmond be able to save Charlie?...

9:30PM-Wow, what a sequence there towards the end. Was it a helicopter that crashed into the ocean? What is the red light? Is it the Others, Penny, or someone/something else entirely? Liked Jin's story around the fire and Hurley's reaction. How is Charlie considered a coward like Desmond mentioned? Back to the flashback, who was that guy that punched Desmond? Can't wait for the rest...

9:41PM-So it's Penny or someone sent by her. Did whoever it is survive? What is wrong with the phone? It said "internal error" not "battery dead". What does that mean? What is the significance of the book? Didn't catch the title, I saw it had 22 in it though. So when will they get to the person? Probably at the end of the episode in true LOST fashion with it being a surprise. When will Charlie trip the trap? Will Desmond overcome his cowardice?...

9:52PM-So he chose not to sacrifice Charlie to keep the flash perfect to see Penny. Does that mean they won't find her or whoever it was that fell? What comes next for Desmond in the flashback? Unfortunately that segment wasn't in HD here in Arkansas but nothing important for screenshots happened. Hopefully the last segment will be in HD and will be amazing...

10:00PM-Not a spectacular ending but good. Who is the girl? Was she sent by Penny? I liked how Desmond and Penny met. Good flashbacks on the whole. Storyline moved pretty well. A good episode. Not amazing, not spectacular but solid. And it leaves you hanging for the next episode.

Welcome to this week's live posting for Episode 3.16, titled "One of Us". Let's get started...

9:08PM-Good start. Another Juliet backstory. Looks like we might get some flashback answers...

9:21PM-Liking the flashbacks. They're progressing quickly and getting to an interesting timeframe. Hopefully some good answers are coming...I liked Sawyer's line to Hurley and Charlie...tender moment as the previously "lost" returned home...until Sawyer saw Juliet. Poor Juliet not wanted by anybody...

9:31PM-More mysterious references to Jacob. Maybe we'll see him this episode...Saw Ethan and Goodwin (?), the intruders into the two groups of flight 815 survivors, that was cool. If they were surgeons, why would you let him go and risk themselves when there are probably lesser Others that could do it?...Well Juliet isn't going to be very popular if Claire is seriously sick. I hope we see what happened when they kidnapped her, that's one of the remaining season 1 mysteries...

9:42PM-Well that's interesting about what happened with Claire. Were they really trying to save her? I think they were. But can you really trust Juliet? If Claire turns out alright because of Juliet's treatment, will they trust her?...I wonder what happened to Rachel...

9:54PM-Juliet was quite assertive there with Sawyer and Sayid...Great flashback. From the start of season 3 (watching the plane break apart is sweet) to seeing all the news reports of flight 815. That's how they get everything. And Rachel is alive and well. Are they following her? Is she at a facility for treatment? Did she know they were involved in her cure?...Will Claire survive? I don't think she'll die because it wouldn't be unexpected. LOST is into sudden deaths without expectation. But Claire dying would surprise me because of this fact. One little bit left...

10:00PM-Well there you go. You can't trust Juliet but now she likely will be. The Others are quite clever, they worked it out well. I wonder how they'll meet in a week and if she'll have to divulge any answers before then...

As the promo said, it's the beginning of the end of season 3. Five episodes + the "cataclysmic" season finale = a great 6 weeks for me. I can't wait!

LIVE Posting: Episode 3.15-Left Behind

*Not really "live" posting but I'm posting my thought as I go along through this week's episode, "Left Behind". Let's begin...

9 minutes in-Good so far. Interesting to see Kate and Sawyer's connection via the girl (forgot her name) and through Kate's mom. Perhaps there are more connections? I liked the detail put into the flashback to have gas at $1.32, lol. Didn't realize Juliet would have that kind of power. Guess it's standard training for the Others. Where's Locke going? Will he be one of them now? What becomes of Juliet and Jack? Back to the episode...

19 minutes in-So it's not just a quick connection, there's a real story behind Kate and Sawyer's ex...Why is Juliet knocked out as Kate was? Is she a threat now?

32 minutes in-Will Sawyer "make nice" with the castaways? Can he win the Korean vote? lol... Liked the fight in the jungle and the rain. What did Kate do to Juliet? Shoulder, arm, wrist? And what triggered the "security system"? Is it related to Kate's injury of Juliet?

40 minutes in-lol @ Sawyer's conversation with Claire..."your baby isn't as...wrinkly as a few weeks ago"...That shoulder dislocation thing looks to be painful...What exactly did the smoke monster do there? How have the Others avoided it for the 3+ years Juliet has been there? And what were Jack's true motives for telling Kate not to come back?

50 minutes in-So that's how the Others have avoided the monster, with their mysterious sonic fence. And that's how they enter and leave without being zapped. Can the monster not fly over the sonic fence? Is it not that intelligent? What is it?!...Poor Juliet, left behind. Not going to get sympathy from Kate though...Nice setup in the flashback. That girl is crafty...Parental issues seem to be a common theme: Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Hurley...

End of episode-Cassie is Sawyer's ex's name...Tender moment there with Jack and Kate until they got outside and Sayid told Jack Juliet wasn't going with them. I think Juliet may be a spy or inside man (woman actually) for the Others. Then again maybe her stint with the Others is through...Where did the Others go? Where can 50 people go quickly and secretly? Is Locke converted now?...Nice con by Hurley. This is one of those weeks where you kind of grow to like Sawyer but I'm sure he'll do something terrible soon and return to being disliked. I still like his character though...

All in all, it was a good episode. Some surprises, some questions raised, a monstrous appearance, and a decent flashback...

The preview for next week looks good. Perhaps some answers from Juliet about the Others?

LIVE Posting: Episode 3.13-The Man From Tallahassee

Sorry, missed the first two or three minutes then had some computer issues so the first update contains the first two segments...

9:18PM-I love Locke episodes. What will happen to Kate and Sayid now? Jack has a reason for being there but they really aren't any good for the Others and there are no cages to hold them. Ready for the answers!...

9:30PM-Loving the episode. They aren't beating around the bush, they're giving answers. Will Jack really get to leave? How many ways do the Others have to get off the island? If the beacon is broken for the sub to get back, would they send Jack away with their only way off? Will Juliet get to leave too? Will Locke sabotage the submarine? What put him in the wheelchair? I'm guessing we'll see it, hopefully...

9:42PM-So this Ryan guy appears to be the new Pickett, the mean Other. Now maybe he'll hold a gun to Sayid's head and Sayid will get away and Juliet will kill Ryan too, lol. So the Others eat Dharma food but also chicken and watermelon. How many Others are there? How many Others have been there their entire life? How many people, like Juliet, want off the island? Will Locke follow through on his threat? What did Ben mean by his box analogy? Does this episode really have to end? lol...

9:53PM-Y'know, I'm not sure I can like Locke now. I understand not wanting to leave the island but to ruin all of your friends' chances too? The flight survivors won't like him, Jack and Juliet especially won't like him, Ben won't like him. He'll be doomed to live alone unless someone forgives him. So now what for Jack and Juliet? And we saw how he broke his back. I figured something was up, shouldn't have turned his back to the guy. Poor Locke but after watching what he did on the island, he's not on my favorites list. I was wondering if they would put Jack, such a key character, on hiatus like Michael and Walt. I guess the Others still have their big boat as an escape (the one they brought Jack and Juliet from Alcatraz to The Island)...

10:00PM-Another strong episode. Answers, moving pace, good storyline, good flashback, and good twist at the end. Didn't think about him not wanting to leave because of his fear of his dad. So now what will he do with his dad at his mercy? Forgiveness or finish him off? How on earth did his dad get there? Did the Others get him there? Did his dad get there looking for him? I wouldn't put it beyond the Others to retrieve him but how would they get him? Force? Promise of seeing his son? It's crazy.

Overall, great episode, moved along well. Missed the beach survivors but it was worth it. Next week's look good as well. They're putting out some great episodes now after a slow, and to some, disappointing first six episodes. I personally can't believe they're losing viewers but I don't imagine they'll lose more now...

Next week's episode, Episode 3.13, titled "Exposé", will air at 10/9c on ABC.

*Delayed* LIVE Posting: Episode 3.12-Par Avion

Tonight's "live" posting of notes and thoughts about Episode 3.12, titled "Par Avion", will be delayed until later tonight (maybe around 11:00PM) due to my love of the Mavericks and a prior engagement. 11:30PM-Time to start!

6 minutes in-Weird start to the episode. Interesting though. I guess Desmond had another premonition. And Claire thinks that birds can help. It's kind of silly and if it ends up in the rescue of the survivors, it will be disappointing. Liked the sequences between Locke, Kate, and Sayid. "No, I like dogs."

16 minutes in-Poor Claire killed her mom. So maybe the bird idea does have a chance. How much of what the Russian said is true? Did the electromagnetic pulse kill all communications? Surely they had a backup plan because people will fail. I wouldn't want the whole project to lie on one person pushing a button every 108 minutes. How do the Others get inside the boundary they created with the poles? What do the poles do?

27 minutes in-Wow. That was incredibly weird and disgusting yet gripping and amazing. The blood spurting out underneath the ear was interesting. Screenshots from that should be sweet. Why does Desmond not want Claire to catch the birds? Does it relate to Charlie's possible death? How does that tie in? How old is Claire in the flashback? She looks young, maybe teenager. What happened between Aunt Lindsey and Claire to make her not so nice? Perhaps Jack's dad supplied the funds or pulled strings for Claire? Maybe she's his daughter? But the timeline is a little skewed. Back to the show...

36 minutes in-Well there ya go. Claire and Jack are siblings. A theory long discussed has been proven. Why did Locke take C4? Did he know the Flame would blow up thus he blew it up intentionally to prevent the removal of him from the island which might put him back in a wheelchair? Locke is certainly intriguing, I'm liking the mystery around him returning. You think you know him then he does something like this. How are they going to get over the security system? Good episode so far. Solid not amazing...

49 minutes in-I'm not sure I'd have the faith to climb the tree and over the sonic security system that makes you bleed beneath your ear. I guess Desmond is still trying to save Charlie and Charlie seems willing to sit back and let Desmond save him. How long can it continue?

End of episode-How much time has progressed in the hospital? Is Claire's mother still alive as she is on the island? So they found Othersville. How do they plan to enter without endangering themselves? Will they fault Jack for playing around? Can you blame him since that security system is there?

Next week's preview looks amazing, though most of the previews are overhyped, I'm not sure that the preview will be what the episode is but a John Locke episode with answers is more than welcome by me. It appears that Locke didn't go to save Jack but to find the Others. Perhaps blow some of them up? Can't wait for it!

Welcome to this week's live posting for Episode 3.11 titled "Enter 77". We'll get started in about 5 minutes...

9:07PM-Nice start. Didn't think we'd see that building and the person so soon. Thought it might take awhile. Liked Sawyer's nickname for Paulo ("Zorro"). Since the sky turning purple is often brought up (Episode 3.07 among others), perhaps answers are coming this season as to what happened with the hatch. As mentioned before, if it imploded how did the door fly away to the beach and how did certain things survive the implosion? I'm hoping they show us instead of just telling us. Back to the show...

9:16PM-Sweet. Dharma folks. I guess that takes out the theory that The Others are Dharma leftovers. So where did The Others come from? Is this is a zoology hatch? What does that Iraqi in the flashback really want? Is this Dharma guy Russian? I like the action thus far and Locke taking charge. It looks like Sayid got shot in the same area as Sawyer did. Hopefully he can get to the Doc quicker than Sawyer did and not go in and out of consciousness. I'm guessing Jin will play the ping pong game? Returns...

9:27PM-Wow, loving it so far. Sayid's theory is interesting (that he's one of them), how does he know? Maybe Dharma and "The Hostiles" are tied together. Does make sense though. The Russian man who was a communications officer in the army. How can that just be a coincidence? The most pressing question: Will Locke beat the computer? lol. Great episode so far...

9:36PM-Sweet action. Sayid is awesome. Smart too, figuring out that there's someone else. Wonder how he found the door in the floor? I wonder if he tortured the girl...I liked Hurley's first point domination. Surprised he was the choice to play. But he seems good. Wonder if the mercy rule will come in to play? What happens next with the door? Perhaps in the next few minutes...

9:48PM-Wow. Great segment. What is the Iraqi woman hiding? Perhaps she just wants revenge on a member of the Republican Guard whether he tortured her or not. The Others turning on each other. I guess Ms. Klugh would rather die than be questioned. Locke won the chess game and got some weird prompts. I was hoping for some mainland communication but oh well. What's up with all the explosives? Maybe it's a trap. Or maybe it's been there for years just in case. I think it would be cool if ABC made some pages of the manual available as an alternate reality thing like the LOST Experience was. That would be sweet...

10:00PM-Explosive ending. Sorry, I had to. Liked the last flashback segment. Is that cat exactly the same as the French cat thus being a possible hallucination or island thing (like Kate's horse)? What happens now that the Flame has exploded? Maybe mainland communication could be achieved and Dharma knows. If Dharma had backup plans against the Hostiles, why didn't they weed them out more effectively if they were going to be a problem? Used real soldiers or something instead of scientists? Did all Dharma folks die due to the "war"? Hurley won the game! 21-3, lol. When they named the terms for Sawyer, I was hoping that it wouldn't be forever or too long cause I like the nicknames. We'll see how Sawyer does with the nicknames.

In my opinion, this was a great episode. Close to my favorite of the season, "Flashes Before Your Eyes". Next week's looks good as well. Back to LOST form with great episodes with action and new characters while still growing the original characters.

*Delayed* LIVE Posting: Episode 3.10-Tricia Tanaka is Dead

Unfortunately, my local affiliate's commitment to (often sub-par, like tonight's losers) SEC basketball, LOST will be delayed until the end of the game. So I will be anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes behind you so please don't spoil anything. I'll let you know how long I'm delayed once the game is over. So until the end of the game, I'll be muttering how stupid KATV is under my breath...(if you want to, click KATV in the sentence above and e-mail them)

9:11PM-LOST begins 11 minutes late and is not in high definition. But at least it's here...

9:21PM (10 minutes into the show)-Interesting, Hurley as a kid has a thicker accent and darker skin. But that's kind of believable. But there were some continuity errors that I was surprised to see. I thought they would pay more attention to the details. The bones changed directions in Vincent's mouth, there were some shaving cream spots that disappeared without Charlie likely getting it off with the towel. Anyways, back to the show...

9:31PM (20 minutes into the show)-I liked the meteorite. Called it but still cool. So now Kate is calling Sawyer "James" most of the time. And how is it that they're just now finding the Dharma stuff, the car and the dart. I guess it's luck or the other things didn't have relevance. And maybe the dart doesn't. Anyways, Sawyer and Kate are back at the beach for a little bit. Of course, they're probably be leaving soon to go save Jack. Well, Kate at least...

9:41PM (30 minutes into the show)- We found out who Tricia Tanaka, the name in the episode title, is. And that she's dead. I liked the Hurley-Jin-Sawyer scenes. "Dude, I suck at charades, you wanna do what?", "well look who's hooked on phonics". And Kate's going to get help. I'm ready for some action. I think that may be coming up. Back to this one, where does the flashback fit in? Hopefully it's not as pointless as last week's...

9:51PM (40 minutes into the show)- I liked the skeleton jokes. This episode has been funny. A comedic episode before the non-stop action for a few weeks? Is there hope on the island? Will the car live again? The flashbacks are ok but the island scenes are what I've liked about this episode. Kind of a break from the action but that's ok. 20 minutes to go...

10:00PM (49 minutes into the show)- "Let's look death in the face and say 'whatever man.'", The nickname bit was funny. Jumbotron, lol. Redneck Man, that's a pretty tough nickname. Well I guess Hurley's going down that hill, I wonder if Charlie will go with him.

10:11 PM (end of show)- Nothing about this episode would make me think it was incredible. But I liked it. I liked the van and everything. The flashbacks were ok. And the last scene was a good setup for next week. The preview for next week looks great. I'm very glad to see those random scenes from a preview at the end of 3.07 are finally coming next week. I can't get my hopes too high because the previews are often deceptive but I think it will be great.

Observations coming tomorrow. Screenshots will be nothing special because of KATV (read the first paragraph of this post) and partly because there wasn't anything too amazingly screenshot worthy in this episode. Anyways, until next week...

LIVE Posting: Episode 3.09-Stranger in a Strange Land

Welcome to this week's live posting for Episode 3.09 titled "Stranger in a Strange Land". Interesting note about the episode title: It could be from Scripture (Exodus 2:22-"And she [Zippo'rah] bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land." King James Version) or from the title of a 1961 science fiction book by Robert A. Heinlein (the book's title was based off the Scripture).

8:45PM-15 minutes to go. I'm currently enjoying last week's episode, one of my favorites. We'll get it started at the first commercial break.

9:06PM-Nothing too exciting in that segment. Not surprised that Sawyer won't turn around (it happens when you read the episode description). Kind of surprised that they're taking Juliet to a cell. Maybe they don't know Ben told her to help them escape. Or killing Pickett was the wrong thing to do. Maybe she didn't like him from past experience?

9:17PM-First flashback experience: lame. But you can't think of each segment by itself but as parts of the whole. Just like the first six episodes of this year. They're part of the whole season. Anyways, poor Jack. Moved to the bear cages for working on Ben. I wish he wasn't so stubborn and would help but I understand. Carl waking up was cool. I like the idea of him becoming a key character. And he confirmed that The Others don't live on "Alcatraz". That will be interesting if they find The Others' homes. And one last thing: how many more people are on top of The Others. First, it's Mr. Friendly (Tom) on the boat and we think he's the leader. Then it was Ben but he himself referenced that a "he" was higher than him. Now it's the strange old woman. Back to the episode...

9:25PM-Short segment there. So "the sheriff's" name is Isabel. When can we expect some backstory on her? And Jack lying for Juliet was just precious, lol. He won't help her by helping Ben but he'll help her, possibly saving her life. One last thing: What does his tattoo mean?! I guess we'll have to wait to find out in the episode...

9:38PM-Good segment. So Isabel isn't in charge but is just the sheriff. There are some Others I kind of like and then there are those I don't like. I kind of like Ben and Juliet and Alex, of course, unless she isn't considered an Other. Anyways, I'm ok if Isabel gets killed in some sweet action. I want Juliet to survive and make it back to Miami to see her sister. Anyways, the flashback is still disappointing. Maybe things will turn around. And Cindy said that it was more complicated than her being kidnapped. Does that mean she's one of them and purposely left?

9:50PM-I still don't like the flashback. The episode has been ok. Nothing too great yet. What does "marked" mean? What does this measure do for Juliet and Jack's relationship? Is Ben going to walk again? If Ethan was a great surgeon, why would Ben send him to investigate the crash survivors (Ep. 3.01)? Unrelated to the segment, but if The Others don't live on Alcatraz, how do they take care of the prisoners at night? If no one is watching the cameras, Kate could have escaped...Back to the episode for the last segment...

10:00PM-And LOST ends instrumentally. I loved the music. The episode was ok. Nothing too exciting. A good episode, a great episode, then a so-so episode. And of course, ABC is saying next week's is "can't miss", they're trying to lure viewers back. I'm becoming more calloused to the previews now. The executive producers don't like them because they create a false hope kind of. Anyways, back to this episode. I didn't like the flashback. I didn't like Isabel. I liked they got off "Alcatraz". And I liked Juliet and Jack possibly aligning. Where did they get that big boat? Is that the same one they captured Walt with? Is Jack going to be a part of the community now. Living in Ben's house to take care of him, becoming kind of like Juliet. A "stranger in a strange land" perhaps...

LIVE Posting: Episode 3.08-Flashes Before Your Eyes

8:37PM-I like this encore showing of last week's episode ("Not In Portland"). Just got out of Room 23. You can read some information about that room and other observations from last week's episode below. Waiting for the new episode...

9:07PM-First segment is good. I had already seen the main parts in clips released over the hiatus and the preview from last week so it lost the stunning effect it might have had. So how does Desmond know? I hope it's not supernatural psychic powers, hopefully it's something more tangible. But how can he see the future without it being supernatural? Possibly we'll find out soon...

9:18PM-I like the flashback to the hatch and that crazy sequence of flashing pictures on the screen. I'll try to get screenshots of that if it's relevant. Perhaps Desmond's odd behavior began before the hatch imploded...It's good to see Penny again. I hope that we'll see her in the present time working to get to the island. Anyways, I like Desmond and I'm glad to see his flashbacks. And to be back on the island with the beach survivors. Back to the episode...

9:28PM-Wow, great flashbacks. They spent the entire sequence in Desmond's flashback and I'm not complaining. Who has that beep on their microwave? That would be sweet. And I noticed the painting in Mr. Widmore's office had a polar bear on it so I'll have to check that. I think I remember a skeleton too. Perhaps the cave on the island where Eko was? Is Desmond living in the past or is this still visions of the future? Certainly is interesting that he had this thing before the island. So that's good. Doesn't appear to be hatch supernatural.

9:40PM-Oh wow!!! That was amazing. Goodness. So is he living in the past? How's that possible? The producers said in the Official LOST Podcast that last week's anagram would be important (Mittelos, the company trying to hire Juliet, is an anagram for "lost time"). Even though nothing has really happened on the island in this episode, I believe it is the best thus far. Wow. This episode will certainly have those theorists going. In disappointing news, my local affiliate failed to flip the switch back to HD from the commercials. That was frustrating. But the episode segment itself was amazing. Hopefully they'll get it in HD this time...

9:51PM-Another good segment. Especially the beginning. This is all very interesting. Is he re-living everything? Is it a dream? I don't think it could be a dream, seems to be a cop-out that would anger fans. Anyways, we've been in flashbacks since seven minutes into the episode. I never thought I would like an episode that is almost solely flashbacks but 'tis a good one. I wonder if there will be an amazing end segment...

10:00PM-Wow, what a deep episode. I don't know where to begin, how it all works, how it's all together. How many times will Desmond re-live his life? Is it selected "scenes" of his life or a whole, complete segment? Is Charlie doomed to die? So did the hatch trigger this re-living? How did that lady know? Is she going through the same thing? What does this all mean? Does Desmond know how they get off the island (or don't)? Where does Desmond's story go from here?

This episode was great, in my opinion. For the fans wanting character development, a lot of time was spent on Desmond. For the fans wanting mystery and mythology, there is certainly plenty to be discussed. If this is the kind of episode we'll be seeing this season, we're in for a great ride to the finale.

Live Posting-Episode 3.07: Not In Portland

Welcome to live posting for Episode 3.07 titled "Not In Portland" airing for 60 minutes on ABC at 10/9c. This features posts during the commercial breaks of LOST with thoughts as I watch.

8:59PM-College basketball is done. LOST will air in HD on time...

9:05PM-I like that we're seeing a flashback of an Other. And I like the tension in OR so far. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to Ben. I imagine it probably won't be resolved in this episode but it might. Time will tell...

9:17PM-I'm disappointed that The Others' gunshots missed so much. Shouldn't have fired so many to make it more realistic. And Ben waking up. That's interesting. Is he fully aware of what he's saying or is he dreaming?

9:39PM-Had to skip a commercial break. Wow, what on earth was that room about? Ben is Alex's dad? Did he adopt her or is she really his daughter? Rousseau said she had never seen The Others, just heard their whispers. Did she lie and she had been with Ben? Or do they steal the kids and give them to Others as their own children. Back to the show...

9:47PM-Wow, that bus came out of nowhere. That was intense. And Juliet shooting Danny was interesting. And what was Juliet injecting her sister with? Will her sister give birth or will that fail? Juliet doesn't look to have aged much between flashback and real-time so when did she get to the island? I think we're in for a good final 15 minutes or so...

10:00PM-Great episode. Didn't disappoint me. The flashback was good (not amazing but solid). And the action was good (even the bad guys can't shoot well at all yet The Others could capture the four at the end of last season, anyways...). So the medical place is "not in Portland". Is Juliet a previously-willing prisoner? Will she really be allowed to leave? Will Jack be allowed to leave? What will happen to Carl? Was Ethan a doctor or just an assistant? Is Ben all good now?

Further observations coming tomorrow after some reading of forums and other people's observations.
